Luke's Footprints

Map of dreams

At times, it really would be impossible to tell that Luke had cancer. It would be impossible to tell that he had had the most unbelievable amount of treatment and sadness continuously poured on him throughout his life. He would in fact have stood out more in your mind for being the most energetic, the most fearless, the most adventurous, clever, engaging and joyful little boy you’d ever known. The little boy, who even if you just met the once, made you feel like you were his best friend. Luke died in 2019. We are heartbroken that the life he loved so very much was so cruelly taken away from him. He is missed beyond words.

Our hope is that Luke's memory lives on with everyone forever, for him to be included in all things fun, for his dreams and adventures to now be fulfilled by others.  If you would like to take part in spreading ‘Luke’s Footprints’ please follow these steps:

  • Are you going on holiday? Do you have a special day out planned? Or a fun afternoon ahead in your local park? We would love you to take one of ‘Luke's footprint stones’ with you.

  • When at your destination, make a new memory by doing something FUN, think of Luke, include him in the day.

  •  When your day is done, leave the stone behind, taking a photo of where you have placed it. Send the photo to us and we will add it to Luke's growing footprint map. (Link to map below).

  •  We politely ask for a small voluntary donation for Luke's stones. Details on ways to make a donation can be found on the 'How You Can Help' page. (Please ensure to email us your name and address so we can get the stone to you). The stones are small, palm-size, with Luke’s very own footprint printed on one side, and a rainbow picture he painted during treatment in 2018 (photo above), printed on the other.  All donations from the stones will go towards supporting children under Paediatric Oncology Shared Care at Barnet Hospital.
